Obituary For Anna Mae Bodurek
Anna Mae Bodurek, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025. She was born on September 21, 1928, in Landville, West Virginia. Anna attended Berea College before marrying the love of her life, Felix Joseph Bodurek, on September 4, 1948 and lived in Davin, West Virginia until 1964 when they moved to Erlanger, Kentucky
Anna was a dedicated educator, teaching home economics at St. Henry High School. Later, she worked as a clerk at Dolly Madison Bakery in Elsmere. After her “retirement” and the passing of her husband, she remained active and moved to Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, continuing her lifelong commitment to serving others. A devoted member of her faith community, Anna was active at Blessed Sacrament Parish, where she participated in Christ Renews His Parish, served as an RCIA sponsor, and was part of the bereavement committee. She was affectionally known as “Granny Boo” by the children she served in the school cafeteria. She was also a proud member of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.
She was deeply committed to helping others—especially feeding the hungry and clothing those in need. Her greatest passion was knitting hats and donating them to cancer centers, the Navajo Nation, the U.S. military, Northern Kentucky Emergency Shelter, and many other charitable organizations.
Anna was known for her generosity, her deep faith, and her unconditional love for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her loving children: Cecile (Gary) Bockelman, Felix J. (Nancy) Bodurek Jr., and Daniel J. (Vicki) Bodurek; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two more blessings on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband: Felix Bodurek, one grandson, one great-grandchild.
Anna will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Services will be held privately by the family.
