Obituary For Anthony Depenbrock
Anthony “Tony” Depenbrock, 76, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, Tony was the son of the late Paul and Evelyn (née Dahlenburg) Depenbrock. A dedicated professional, faithful servant, and talented craftsman, Tony devoted his life to his family, his faith, and serving others.
Tony earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting and began his career at KPMG. He went on to serve as Chief Financial Officer for Continental National Company before retiring as Chief Financial Officer of the Diocese of Covington.
His commitment to his Catholic faith extended well beyond his professional career. Tony previously served as chair of the board at Thomas More University and served on various boards for the Diocese of Covington, as well as committees for the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence. He was also a devoted parishioner of St. Barbara Church, where he served as business manager.
Above all, Tony cherished his family and was devoted to the love of his life, Alga, with whom he shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed traveling, especially during their winters spent at Navarre Beach, Florida.
Tony was also a gifted woodworker who found joy in creating beautiful, lasting pieces with his hands. He crafted cradles, cutting boards, clocks, quilt racks, and many other treasures. With a sense of humor and a spirit of camaraderie, Tony was also a proud member of the “Nine-Finger Woodworker Club,” a testament to the dedication he brought to his craft.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Depenbrock.
Tony is survived by his wife, Alga (nee Lunsford) Depenbrock; sons, Jason (Angelique) Depenbrock and Nathan (Allison) Depenbrock; grandchildren: Jalen, AnnMarie, Drew, Boone, Dane and Isla; brothers, Terry (Rose) Depenbrock, Tom (Martha) Depenbrock and Tim (Dee) Depenbrock; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM, at St. Barbara Catholic Church, 4042 Turkeyfoot Rd, Erlanger, KY.
