Averyl (Abby) Lewis, 89, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026 in Villa Hills, KY. Born in Blue Creek, OH on March 17, 1937, Abby was the daughter of Donald and Lucille Caraway. Abby was predeceased by three husbands – Lafayette Jones, Virgil Kelly and Paul Lewis.

Abby is survived by her children Don (Kathy) Jones, Cindy (John) Carey and Amy Kelly; stepchildren Brenda Bowen, Vickie Feltz, and Linda Nichols; grandchildren Tyler (Nikki) Voorhees, John (Kelly) Voorhees, Andrew (Chellssa) Jones, Ryan (Natalie) Jones, Sean (Kate) Carey, and Caitlin Carey; great grandchildren Justin, Madison, Elric, Colin, Carlee, Caleb, Remi, Olivia and Grant. Abby is also survived by her brother John (Joyce) Caraway, sisters Rosemary Caraway and Neda (Bruce) Nutley, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings Jan McCluskey and George Caraway.

Abby lived a life marked by love, humor, and kindness. Everyone will miss receiving her Hallmark cards, peanut butter fudge and angel food cakes.

A celebration of Abby’s life will be held on Saturday August 22nd at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 2718 Dixie Highway, Lakeside Park, KY. Visitation at 10 a.m. will precede the service at11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Church.

Abby’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Gloria Dei Memorial Fund, c/o Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 2718 Dixie Highway, Lakeside Park, KY 41017.
