Barbara Esther Giles Gabbard, age 93, of Walton, KY (formerly of Independence, KY), passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ike Gabbard, in 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Esther Giles, daughter-in-law, Sandra Gabbard, son-in-law, Paul R. Braun, and grandson, Paul J. Braun.

Barb is survived by her children, Earl Gabbard (Lisa), Tracey Love (David), and David Gabbard; brother, Lee Giles (Diane); grandchildren, Kristen Taylor (Brooke), Sara Stover (Mike), Tiffany Benson, Sam Gabbard, Sarah Newton (Anthony), Gabriel Gabbard (LeLana), Andrew Gabbard, Nicholas Gabbard, and Jacob Gabbard; and great-grandchildren, Archer, Eric, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Haddie, and Lexie.

A visitation for Barb will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3711 Tibatts St., Covington, KY 41015, in the old chapel.

Barb will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery following the service.
