Obituary For Barbara Lee Hagedorn
Barbara Lee Hagedorn (Dumford), 84 of Highland Heights, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Born at home on Crown Avenue in Norwood, Ohio, and was the daughter of Walter Dumford and Ruth Dumford (nee: Schmidt). Barbara graduated from Central High School and worked for MCB/EM Science for 30+ years.
Barbara was an avid Roman Catholic and member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, where she served on the Health Ministry. She was also an Associate Member of the Congregation of Divine Providence, Melbourne, KY. Barbara spent her life serving others any way she could. She loved watching her game shows especially The Wall. She was an avid fan of UK athletics.
Barbara is survived by Sons, David Wayne Hagedorn and Russell Childs (Laurissa); Daughters Dawn Marie Hagedorn and Deborah (David) Gross; Sister Mary Vance; Grandchildren, Danielle Hagedorn, Devin Hagedorn, Nathan Cruickshank, Adam Childs, Hannah Childs and Maggie Childs; Sister-in-law, Sarah Jane Dumford; Nieces, Jackie (Jack) Brown, Tracy (Ron) Spivey, Kim (Dave) Richendollar, Mary (Tim) Trent and JoAnn (Terry) Beckman; Nephews, John (Linda) Newman, Jim (Kristin) Newman, Jerry Newman (Jennifer Harris), Joe Newman, Shannon (Liz) Hinton. She is also survived by numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Sisters, Ruth Newman and Nancy Johnson; Brother Paul Dumford; great nephew Justin Brummett and parents Walt and Ruth (nee: Schmidt) Dumford.
Visitation will be Saturday, April, 25, 2026, 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 South Ft. Thomas Ave., Ft. Thomas, KY 41075. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am, at St. Thomas Parish with Rev. Ross Kelsch officiating. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Holy Family Nursing Home, 2000 St. Anne Drive, Melbourne, KY 41059. Online condolences can be made at www.dmefuneral.com.
