Obituary For Barbara Mae Frederick

Barbara Mae Frederick (née Mattox), age 88, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026. She was born on May 17, 1937, in Paris, Kentucky, to the late William and Allena (née Clifford).

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Tony W. Frederick; her son, Tony Frederick Jr.; her grandson, Jacob Frederick; and her daughters-in-law, Carol Frederick (née Suter) and Kim Frederick (née Cupp). She leaves behind a loving and devoted family who will cherish her memory always: her children, Rickey (Eva) Frederick, Kim (Larry) Mahoney, Bobby (Michele Rouselle) Frederick, Johnny (Patricia) Frederick, and Michael (Brenna) Frederick; her sibling, Carol Bates; along with 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Barbara was the heart of her home and family. She was a woman of deep love and quiet strength, often described as an angel on earth by those who knew her best. Family meant everything to her, and she showed it in countless ways—especially through the simple, meaningful routines that became lasting memories, like making breakfast every morning for her beloved husband. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: camping trips, time spent by the water, and being outdoors. She had a special love for her dogs and found beauty in nature, especially in the presence of hummingbirds and cardinals. Barbara also had a passion for gardening, nurturing both flowers and the people around her with equal care. Holidays were especially dear to her heart. She lovingly hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and togetherness that her family will forever hold close.

Barbara’s life was a testament to love, devotion, and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the generations she helped raise and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on March 25, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, KY. Service will be at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at Burlington cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Boone County Humane Society in Barbara’s memory.
