Obituary For Betty Jo Whisner
Betty Jo Whisner, 84, of Newport Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026. She was born on March 12, 1942, in Bartley, West Virginia. Betty worked for the Federal government for over 30 years. She enjoyed helping the veterans so much that after retirement she continued serving through volunteer work.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin “Mel” Whisner and her parents, William and Zora Blankenship.
She leaves behind her daughters, Cathy Gobble and Beth Whisner; her grandchildren, Mike Brown, Amanda Gobble, and Brittany Esquivel and 7 great grandchildren and 3 sisters.
Betty was known for being a devoted and enthusiastic supporter of her family. Her legacy will live on through all the memories and love she shared.
No services will be held to honor her request. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to spend time with loved ones.
