Obituary For Bev Fischesser

Bev Fischesser passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 13th. She was 75. Bev was raised in Ludlow and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1968. After starting a family and working for a number of years, she earned her RN certification from Christ Hospital School of Nursing in 1986 and BSN from Mount St. Joseph University in 1995, earning induction into the Omicron Omicron Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. After working as a nurse for over 25 years, including at Christ Hospital, the University of Cincinnati, and St Elizabeth, Bev retired in 2015 to care for Jim and her beloved dogs, while continuing her longstanding work caring for the Sisters at Notre Dame’s Lourdes Hall residence. Her devotion to this service continued after the infirmary was moved from St. Joseph Heights to St. Charles in 2023. Throughout her life, Bev gave without need for recognition to a number of causes. In addition to her service to the Sisters of Notre Dame, she was a supporter of the ASPCA, Cincinnati Lab Rescue, and a number of educational charities. In addition to all of her professional and charitable work, Bev devoted countless hours to decorating for every holiday. In particular, her record-setting collections of Santa Clauses, Christmas trees and ornaments were a point of pride. Bev was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jim Fischesser, and is survived by her children: Carrie Russell (Dave), Matthew Fischesser (Elizabeth) and Leslie Fischesser. She was proud and beloved ‘Mimi’ to Avery Kreinest (Spencer), Chloe Anneken and Ada Grace Fischesser. She also leaves behind countless loving friends and co-workers. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, August 21 at 11:30am, St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Park Hills. Interment St. John Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Ky. Memorials suggested to Sisters of Notre Dame Urban Education Center, 14 East 8th Street, Covington, Ky. or the ASPCA (aspca.org).
