Beverly “Bev” Jane Shoemaker, 82, of Florence, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Florence Park Care Center in Florence, KY. She was born October 5, 1940 in Covington, KY to the late Hobert and Nancy Loyd. Bev made being a Mom her primary focus. She loved her family dearly and always made sure her kids were her top priority. She went above and beyond for the holidays and birthdays. As her kids grew up, she became a proud grandma and continued to love and care for her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, and was very popular in the family for her home style cooking. Bev took pride in being a mom and grandma and her memory will live on in her family’s hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Shoemaker, her sisters: Carolyn Landrum and Nancy Jo Hester, and her brother, Bobby Cogswell. Bev is survived by her loving children: Kim Binder (Jerry), Kevin Shoemaker, Karen Weaver (Jeff), Kathy Wulfeck (Joe), Kris Shoemaker and Kenyon Shoemaker, her beloved grandchildren: Kristina “Ryan” Bodie, Amy Johnson, Rigby Wulfeck and Nicholas Weaver, and her sweet great-grandchildren: Caleb and Kason Bodie, Brendan Willoughby and Kiah Franks. A visitation will be held for Bev on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 10 AM until 12 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. A service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Bev will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
