Obituary For Bill J. Wolfinbarger
Bill J. Wolfinbarger, of Independence, KY was born on Friday, October 13, 1944 in Irvine, KY, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, age 80, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY. Bill was a master welder, a carpenter & retired Conductor for CSX Railroad of 12 years. He was a life-time member of Community Family Church in Independence. Bill had a heart to serve the Lord, and used his talents and abilities to build and fix about anything. Bill was the General Carpenter of Community Family Church & Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church. He was passionate about missions and enjoyed spreading the gospel around the world. Over the years, he traveled many places spreading God’s word, having taken many trips to the depths of the Amazon Jungle and beyond, to witness to tribes and people who had never been told about God’s love. On several mission trips, he helped in the building of churches, an orphanage, a schoolhouse & several parsonages. Bill also enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time on his farm, listening to country and gospel music, especially George Jones & Happy Goodmans. His adventurous side led him to kayaking, ziplining & hang gliding in Hawaii. He cherished spending time with his children, Karie King (Steve), Rhonda MacFerren (Chet), and Dion Wolfinbarger (Stacey); his sister, Alene Gabbard; his grandchildren, Matthew King, Makayla King, Nick Wolfinbarger, and Devin Wolfinbarger, his great granddaughter, Haven King; and his beloved wife, Maxie Browning Wolfinbarger. Bill and Maxie first met at the age of 7, in church, and began a relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend at the age of 10, eventually leading to over 60 years of marriage. Visitation for Bill will be Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 2 pm to 4 pm with his funeral service beginning at 4 pm at Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051. On Monday, April 7th at 11am, a small interment service will take place at Floral Hills Cemetery in Taylor Mill, KY. Memorials may be made to the Community Family Church Missions Program.
