Bill McKibben
6/10/1932 - 4/22/2026
Obituary For Bill McKibben
Bill McKibben went home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 22, 2026.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Amy (Pete) Coleman, his grandsons, Tanner (Savanna) Coleman and Tate (Anna) Coleman, his precious great-grandchildren, Blake Elizabeth, Jameson Taylor, and Alexandra Jo, and his nieces, Marlene (Bob) Porter, Joy (Dean) Burrough, and Dawn (Brad) Vanhoy.
Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jan McKibben, and his brother, Steve (Vickie) McKibben.
Professionally, Bill worked as a tax accountant for over 30 years at Dubois Chemicals in Cincinnati until retiring in 1992. After retiring, Bill devoted his time to serving in his church, Florence Baptist, serving on the board of New Hope Pregnancy Care Center, spending time with his family, and playing the sport he loved, tennis. Bill was an accomplished tennis player who competed in tournaments in various states in the U.S. and was able to play competitively until his early 80s.
Bill loved his family dearly, especially his grandsons, Tanner and Tate. There was no greater role in his life than the role of Poppa. He loved spending time with them, playing with them, loving them, and instilling in them the importance of faith and living their lives for Jesus.
Bill’s greatest desire was to bring glory and honor to God through the life he lived. He consistently lived out his faith, demonstrating gentleness, patience, kindness and love to those with whom he came into contact.
The visitation will be from 5 PM - 6 PM with the funeral service to follow at 6 PM on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US 42, Florence, KY 41042. Burial will follow at Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery, Florence, KY.
