Obituary For Bonnie Docia Byrd
Bonnie Docia Byrd, 94 of Erlanger, KY, passed away on November 22, 2024 peacefully at her home. Bonnie was born on July 27, 1930 to Lester and Margaret Hill in Owsley county, KY. Bonnie excelled in school and completed her high school education in Cincinnati, OH. Her parents followed her and opened Hill’s Market in Mt. Adams, where she met Charles, and they married in 1947. Bonnie and Charlie went on to have two children, Tammy and Jeff.
Bonnie was a realtor for Circle Realty, then worked at the NKY Board of Realtors for many enjoyable years.
Bonnie was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Florence, KY for over 50 years. Her work with the Altar Guild brought her great joy. Many wonderful friendships blossomed.
She enjoyed many trips with her children and especially loved vacationing by the ocean and sitting on the beach with a book, watching her grandchildren play.
Bonnie was a caring, friendly, loving woman who lived life to the fullest into her nineties. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family, was an avid Reds and Bengals fan, always watching and rooting for them.
Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Margaret Blake Hill; her husband, Charles Edward Byrd; brothers Clifford and Tom; her nephews Michael, Eddie and Greg; and her infant son, James.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Mark Dickman, and their children Adam Charles Dickman and Emily Noelle Dickman; her son and daughter-in-law Carol and Jeff Byrd, and their children Catherine Byrd Miller and Andrew Philip Byrd, and nephew William Hill.
Visitation will be held Saturday December 7, 2024 from 10am to 11am with funeral service to follow at Grace Episcopal Church 7111 Price Pike Florence, KY. Burial will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Park, Taylor Mill, KY. Online condolences can be made at www.linnemannfuneralhomes.com
