Obituary For Brenda Lee Metzger
Brenda Lee Metzger, née Stenger, born on December 19, 1958, in Dayton, Kentucky, to the late Edward and Jean (nee Gallagher) Stenger passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family.
Brenda’s journey was one marked by dedication and joy. She graduated from Great Oaks, where the foundations of her spirited personality were evident. She was always the life of the party, bringing light and laughter wherever she went.
She made her mark professionally as an administrative assistant, contributing many years to her roles at Valvoline and Keebler. Yet, it was beyond her career where Brenda truly flourished, pouring herself into creating a vibrant family life.
Her story with her husband Dave Metzger began in a serendipitous moment when, after meeting through mutual friends, they rolled down the hill by Nippert Stadium—it was love from that instant onward. They married on May 31, 1986, Together, they built not only a home but a sanctuary of love, a place continually filled with family celebrations and gatherings, especially during the holidays.
Brenda delighted in hosting, often with a home brimming with loved ones. Her cheesy potatoes, a beloved dish, will be missed at every family gathering.
Brenda was a devoted mother to Brian, Randy (Angela), and Matthew Metzger, lovingly involved in every aspect of their lives. Her commitment to her children reflected the immense love she had for family, a love that expanded to include her husband Dave and all those dear to them. She was also treasured by her siblings Debbie Shriner, Mark (Judy) Stenger, Vicki (Richard) Poe, Teresa (Frank) Wolf, Jill (Phillip) Richardson, and David (Jessica) Stenger, as well as her loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
She cherished camping at her second home at Camp Turnabout that she has beautifully decorated, where nature’s beauty complemented her love for gardening, plants, and the great outdoors.
Brenda enjoyed boating, camping and the excitement of bargain hunting and yard sales. A collector at heart, her treasures told stories of her care and unique enthusiasm. Even in leisure, she embraced family-friendly card games, reveling in moments shared with those she cherished.
As family and friends reflect on her life, they remember a woman who transformed ordinary days into unforgettable memories, who hosted more than just parties but wells of happiness and homecomings. She leaves behind a timeless impression of love, community, and unyielding spirit.
Though Brenda Metzger’s presence has passed from this world, her life’s impact shines brightly—a beacon of love, laughter, and family unity that will forever endure.
Services for Brenda will be held at a later date.
