Obituary For Bunny Ann Ferguson
Bunny Ann Ferguson, 78, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Denver, Colorado on May 12, 1948; the daughter of the late Evelyn Valdez and Abel Montoya.
Bunny was a supervisor for the Internal Revenue Service and the Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms and retired after 34 years of government service. She was most proud of her role as the Child Care Coordinator designing and establishing the federal building daycare and having Mayor Charlie Luken declare December 8, 2005 “Bunny Ferguson” Day in Cincinnati due to the success of the daycare center and her many other accomplishments during her career.
She was very social and enjoyed dancing, crocheting, going to the movies and having margaritas and Mexican food with her family. She was a water aerobics instructor and joined any and all social committees that she could. Her signature dish was her family’s green chili recipe. It was so delicious she won first place in a chili contest and her children continue on with the family recipe at family gatherings.
Besides spending time with her family and grandchildren, she adored her four-legged, faithful companion, Pinky who was with her for almost 17 years. Bunny and her late husband Paul spent thirteen memorable winters together in Lady Lake, Florida.
Preceding Bunny in death were her parents; her beloved husband of 25 years, Paul Ferguson; and her sisters Linda Terry and Debbie Sullivan.
Those left surviving to carry on her legacy and memory are her children Amy (William) Turner, Ken (Tina) Smith, Monique Schott and Reed Wamsley; step-children Dan Ferguson, Debbie (Mark) Lowrey, and Linda (Charlie) Lackmeyer; her brother Art Sullivan and sister Laurie Sullivan; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and her best friend Diane Barnhill.
A visitation celebrating Bunny’s life will take place from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Father Harry Settle will preside over the services. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Expressions of sympathy in Bunny’s name may be made to St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church.
