Obituary For Butch Callery

Butch Callery, 83, of Villa Hills, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Covington (Latonia), KY. Butch was the longest-serving elected official in Covington, KY, serving as City Commissioner for 21 years and Mayor for 8 years. He also served as Mayor of Villa Hills, KY for 4 years and was the Elected Official of the Year by Kentucky League of Cities in 2017. Butch was a member of the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame and long-time coach and sponsor of local baseball and softball teams. He was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce M. Brink Callery and sister: Sandra (surviving spouse: Gary) Schanding. Butch is survived by his children: Cindy (Jon) Smith, Craig Callery, Chad Callery and Chris "Walt" Callery; siblings: Brenda Culyer and Rick Robinson; grandchildren: Colton, Cortney (Joey), Connor, Carlie (Clint), Benjamin, Lucy, MaKenzie and Harper; great-grandchildren: Reece, Reagan, Rhett, Riley, Maddie and Wesley. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM until the Eulogy at 5:50 PM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 PM at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Interment and Committal Service will take place on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Mother of God Cemetery, 3125 Madison Avenue, Fort Wright, KY 41015.
