Obituary For Carolyn Ann Smith
Carolyn Ann Smith, 83, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, with her daughters by her side. Carolyn was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on February 22, 1943, to the late Herbert and Juanita Hensley. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Smith.
Carolyn leaves behind her loving daughters, Pamela Carol Baker (Mike) and Bonita Lynn Johnson (Ernie). She was the cherished grandmother of Michael Baker (Haley), Austin Johnson (Kailie), Shane Johnson (Lauren), and Shanda Johnson (Steve), and the proud great-grandmother of Mikey Baker, Mia Baker, Clara Beth Johnson, Quinn Johnson, Riley Jo Johnson, Juliana Hicks, Arianna Hicks, and Miyah Luke. She also leaves behind her dear friend from Baptist Village, Herta Herzog.
Carolyn was a woman of deep and unwavering faith and a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Music was a lifelong passion for her. She began piano lessons in Cincinnati at the age of nine and found great joy in sharing her gift through church music. Carolyn faithfully played the piano for many years and most recently led music on Saturday nights at Baptist Village, touching many lives through her talent and servant’s heart.
Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and the love she poured into her family and church community. Whether seated at the piano or surrounded by those she cherished most, she lived a life rooted in kindness, devotion, and grace. Her music, her faith, and her unwavering love will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and beautiful memories that will never fade.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042. Burial will immediately follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY. Memorial donations can be made in her honor to: Immanuel Baptist Church, 7183 Old Pleasant Valley Way, Florence, KY 41042.
