Obituary For Cecil Huston Samples

Cecil Huston Samples, age 91, died August 25th, 2023 at Emerald Trace in Elsmere, KY. He was a part-time farmer, worked 35 years for Procter & Gamble, but his favorite job was being with family and friends. Huston resided in Burlington, KY and was a longtime deacon at Burlington Baptist Church. He loved playing cards, traveling and being surrounded by his family. His kind, caring, Christ-like spirit touched so many lives. He was one of those men that most aspire to be. He always had a genuine smile and set a wonderful example of courage and strength for all those who knew him.

His wife, Florence Lee Samples (nee Hamm), sisters: Beatrice Spaulding and Doris Jean Shouse preceded him in death along with his great-grandchild Mekaela Kenney. Survivors include his daughters: Vicki Cecile Lasley (Patrick) of Burlington and Kimberly Diane Speagle (Rusty) of Burlington, grandchildren: Christopher Kenney (Becci), Jason Kenney and LeeAnn Clarke (Philip), great-grandchildren: Caitlin Kenney Landon Kenney, Conner Kenney, Jamison Clarke, Grayson Clarke and Maddox and Eli Kenney.

Visitation and funeral will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 10am to 2pm with funeral services immediately following at Burlington Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Burlington Baptist Church, 3031 Washington St. Burlington, KY 41005.
