Obituary For Cecil Richard Eades

Cecil Richard Eades, 97, entered eternal life, Thursday, October 16 at his Florence, KY home.

Cecil was a former co-owner of Eades Trucking Co., a milk shipping enterprise. Until just a few months ago he worked in masonry and firewood with his nephew, Larry Clark. His desire to remain productive was unmatched and never ending.

Cecil was a devoted member of Beaverlick Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus.

An avid sports fan, Cecil never missed watching a UK basketball or Cincinnati Reds game on TV. For many decades he was a Reds season ticketholder. He also had sponsored, played and coached multiple men’s softball teams.

Because of Cecil’s remarkable work ethic, kind heart and unwavering faith he was a role model to countless young men and women.

Survivors include his daughter, Delana Eades (Paul Johnson), grandson Brennan Eades (Jessica), great grandchildren Cole Hamilton, Julieanna Struley, and Laina Eades as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille, parents Albert and Ethel Eades, sisters Nell Johnson, Nancy Eades Clark, brothers Walter, Edward, Eugene, Linville “Pete”, Omer, and Earl Eades.

Visitation for Cecil will be Thursday, October 23, from 5 pm to 8 pm and again on Friday, October 25, 2025, from 10 am to 12 noon at Beaver Lick Baptist Church, 11460 U.S. Highway 42, Union, KY 41091. His funeral service will begin at 12 noon on Friday. Interment for Cecil will be at Union Rice Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
