Obituary For Chance Lee Martin
Chance Lee Martin, 19, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Lexington, KY.
Chance was the loving son of Mike O. Martin and Gloria Brown, and the dear brother of Mary Gross (Doug), Paula Martin, Theresa Prather (Doug), Michael Martin (Casey), Colton Johnson, Charissa Rudd, and Raymond Vermillion. He is also survived by a devoted circle of friends who were like family to him, and by their families who welcomed him as one of their own. He was a dear friend to many and loved by all who knew him.
Chance was a 2025 graduate of Holy Cross High School in Covington, where he played football and was proud to be part of the Holy Cross family. Those who knew him remember one of the kindest, gentlest souls they had ever met, the kind of person who made the world a little better simply by being in it. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday, September 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Church. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Holy Cross High School.
