Obituary For Christine Taylor

Christine (Watkins) Taylor, 88, of Hebron, Kentucky, entered into her eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Born in Breathitt County, Kentucky, Christine was the daughter of the late William and Laura Watkins. She was one of twelve children, blessed with nine sisters and two brothers. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Lonnie Lee Taylor, Sr. (2023); her brothers, Grover and Glen; her sisters, Juanita, Bea, Dolly, Pauline, Shirley, Betty, and Geneva.

Christine is survived by her sons, Lonnie Taylor (Barbara) and William Taylor (Cindy); her cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Mitchell (Joe) and Zachary Taylor; and her adored great-grandchildren, Shawn, Charlie, and Henry Mitchell. She also leaves behind her sisters, Loretta Wilson (Tim) and Carol Sue Wilcher, along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Christine was a strong, independent woman who lived life her way with no regrets. She always stayed active, faithfully walking three miles a day on the track at Conner High School before going to work. She was devoted to her work at the Boone County Board of Education. Christine touched countless lives with her care and commitment while working in the cafeteria at Conner Middle School for 36 years and then as a bus aide for 14 years. In 2017, Christine was honored with The Break the Mold Award when she retired at age 80.
Christine enjoyed going to yard sales with her sisters and going out to eat with friends and family, but her greatest joy was attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events and visiting with them at her home.

Christine was a devout Christian. She was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene, where she served in the nursery for 63 years and was loved by all.
Christine will be remembered for her kind spirit, her devotion to family, and her strong faith. She now rejoins her beloved husband, Lonnie, in eternal rest.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Central Church of the Nazarene, 2006 Pieck Dr, Fort Wright, KY 41011. Burial will follow immediately at Sand Run Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Christine’s honor to Central Church of the Nazarene, 2006 Pieck Drive, Fort Wright, KY 41011, or to Saint Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
