Obituary For Christopher Todd Gebelt
Christopher Todd Gebelt, 65, of Alexandria, Kentucky, was called home by the Lord on May 15, 2026, after a courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Chris was the son of the late Clyde Elmore Gebelt and Janice Gail Swartz. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, firefighter, and friend whose presence and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Chris is survived by his loving wife, Therese Gebelt (née Glossner); his daughter, Brittany (Jared) Dornheggen; and his cherished grandson, Jaedyn Gebelt, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Paula (Denny) Newberry, and his brother, Roger (Debbie) Gebelt, along with many extended family members, and friends.
Chris was a dedicated member of Persimmon Grove Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. Chris worked as a machinist for over 40 years, most recently with Matlock Electric Motors in Cincinnati, Ohio. While he took great pride in his work, his true calling was serving others through the fire service. Chris faithfully served the Southern Campbell Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter and EMT for 41 years.
Outside of work and public service, Chris enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys in life was being “Paps” to Jaedyn and embracing his role as the hockey grandpa. Chris and his family spent countless weekends traveling to hockey games and tournaments over the years, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He rarely missed a game and was always happiest cheering from the stands alongside the people he loved most.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Persimmon Grove Baptist Church, 10471 Persimmon Grove Pike, Alexandria, Kentucky 41001. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at Persimmon Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Persimmon Grove Baptist Church or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network https://pancan.org/?form=FUNGMWGYGJJ.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Alexandria Funeral Home.
