Obituary For Claudia Sue Broering
Claudia Sue Broering (nee. Wagner), 82, of Cold Spring, KY passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at her residence while surrounded by family.
She was born September 29, 1943 in Newport where she grew up until getting married to her husband Jim in 1963. She was a resident of Ft. Thomas and Cold Spring for the remainder of her adult life.
Before starting a family, she had a short stint as a teacher, but her true passion was being a homemaker and volunteering. She logged over 5000 volunteer hours in the gift shop at St. Elizabeth hospital in Ft. Thomas in addition to countless hours spent in the St.Thomas cafeteria and school where her children attended. When she was younger, she loved to bowl, play tennis and go on family vacations. She enjoyed decorating for all of the holidays and looked forward to family gatherings where many laughs and memories were shared. She always made sure to keep bowls of candy full for everyone to enjoy.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, George & Helen (nee Webster) Wagner and son, Jeff Broering. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Broering; daughters, Karen Broering & Beth (Jim) Knaley; sons, Mike (Sherri) & Steve Broering; sisters, Gina (Jim) Rapp, Judy (Dennis) Crowder, Chris (Pat) Lenihan & Billie Jean (Saul) Frilling; 9 grandchildren, Monica (Josh), Trevor (Becky), Megan (Jon), Adam (Chelsey), Stewart (Madi), Emily (Jonathan), Sam, Maddie & Ella & 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12 p.m., Tuesday, February 24th at St. Thomas Church, Ft. Thomas. Interment will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Thomas Church, 26 East Villa Place, Ft. Thomas, KY 41075 or St. Vincent DePaul Society, 2655 Crescent Springs Rd., Covington, KY 41017.
