David Earl Carter, of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, passed away in Edgewood, Kentucky on August 31, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on October 7, 1950 in Covington, Kentucky.

David was known as a jokester and as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He took pride in his family above all else, and they were his proudest accomplishment. For many years, he worked as a long-distance truck driver. He also enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and fixing things; those simple pleasures reflected the kind of hands-on, dependable man he was.

He shared a long and devoted marriage with his wife, Mary “Connie” Constance Carter, née Winzig. This November would have marked 53 years of marriage for them, a lasting bond built over many years together.

David will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Melissa (Raellyn Hatter) Carter, Jodie (Lance) Kinsey, David Carter, Darren (Jennifer) Carter, and Mary (Garrett) Griffith. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sarah, Ian, Anakin, Ethan, Emily, Samantha, Darren, and Oliver and 5 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Debbie Hancock, and his brother, Dennis (the late Darlene) Carter. David’s love for his family was clear throughout his life, and his memory will remain close to all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Carter, and by his mother, Rosie Christine Carter, née Overbay.

David will be remembered for his humor, his love for his family, and the way he enjoyed the everyday work of using his hands to redneck engineer anything. His life touched many, and he leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward with love.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 2pm - 3pm followed by a Celebration of Life at Family Worship Center, 1380 N. Main Street Williamstown, KY 41097.
