Obituary For David Edward Schwer
David Edward Schwer, 66, of Villa Hills, peacefully passed Wednesday, May 13, 2026 surrounded by the love of his wife and children.
Dave was humble, kind, generous, and larger than life with a heart of gold. His greatest joy was being a Husband, Dad, Pop Pops and friend. Every day, he freely gave each of us his unconditional love. Those who knew him, though, know that the love he shared with his wife, Cathy, of 42 years was beyond human understanding and felt by all those who were blessed to witness it. Together, they built a life centered around God, love, and family.
Dave had a successful 32-year career with GE Aviation traveling all over the world retiring in 2022 as a Strategic Sourcing Leader, Military Operations. In retirement, he started his company, Process Centric Solutions, consulting for global companies. Outside of his professional career, he spent many hours volunteering for church, school, sports teams, and many other non-profit organizations over the years. Dave cared for all spending time and energy pouring into people and inspiring many.
Dave’s light, joy and laughter will last a lifetime for all those who knew him. He will be cherished forever and missed dearly, but the love he left behind transcends any physical limits this world creates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Mona Schwer and brother, Robert Schwer.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cathy (nee Ward); daughters, Ashley (Patrick) Corbin & Melissa (Raphael) Asafo-Agyei; son, Brandon (Sarah) Schwer; grandchildren, Kylie, Austin, Emma, Ethan, Mariah, Jenna, Jordan, Leland, Wrenley & Grady; sister, Lorrie (George) Segelken and extended sister, Carla Kovacs.
We invite you to celebrate Dave’s extraordinary life with us at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23rd at Crossroads Chapel, 3500 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45209. Please enter on the east side of Crossroads Church through the Chapel doors. Please join us in wearing a bright rainbow of colors to celebrate Dave’s life along with a letter or note sharing a favorite memory of Dave that the family can later read.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Go Pantry, 7453 Empire Drive. Suite 300, Florence, KY 41042 (gopantry.org) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
