Obituary For David Karshner

David "Dave" Karshner, 65, of Florence, KY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2026. Dave was born to Thalia {Conger} Karshner and David C. Karshner on September 7, 1960. He was raised in Santa Fe Springs, California, before relocating to Kentucky.

A proud patriot, Dave honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work to Novolex (formerly Duro).

On the greatest day of his life, Dave married the love of his life, Tammi {Cheatum} Karshner. Together, they shared 32 beautiful years side by side, including 26 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Dave embraced Tammi's son as his own, loving and caring for him wholeheartedly. Family was always at the center of his life, and nothing brought him greater joy than being "Papaw" to his beloved grandchildren.

Dave had a passion for sports and was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. He enjoyed spending time at the casino, taking long motorcycle rides with his friends, and creating memories during family vacations to Mexico, especially Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen. Dave had a remarkable sense of humor and loved pulling harmless pranks on family and friends, always keeping everyone laughing. He never met a stranger, and it seemed that everyone who crossed his path quickly became a friend.

He will be immensely missed by his wife, Tammi Karshner; his mother, Thalia Karshner; his children, Jeremy (Anna) Cheatum and Chris (Lisa) Chappell; his siblings, Lorena (Steve) Beckett and Sherri (Rich) Combs; and his grandchildren, Maddy, Max, and Gia Cheatum, and Keegan and Reed Grubenhoff.

Dave was preceded in death by his beloved father, David C. Karshner, whose passing came just four days before Dave's own. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Brian Scott Karshner in 2010.

Services for Dave will be held on Friday, July 31st with visitation hours between 10 AM and 12 PM, with Dave’s funeral service beginning at 12 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. Dave will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY where military honors will be held.
