Obituary For David Ronald Brewer

David Ronald (Ron) Brewer passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the age of 79, following an 8-year-long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

He was born February 23, 1947, in Covington, KY, to parents Anna Belle Kimberlin and James Calvin Brewer.

David was a 1965 graduate of Boone County High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966-1968, stationed in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a Masters of Engineering (Mechanical).

In 1975, David was married to the love of his life, Mary Gerarda (Gerry) Fahey. It was a love match which held strong through all of their married life. Upon his retirement, he and Gerry enjoyed their 100 acre farm in Pendleton County raising beef cattle, tobacco and general farming.

When Gerry’s illness began, the farm sold and they moved to Ft Mitchell to be closer to medical services. At Gerry’s death in 2017, they were married 42 years. Each year thereafter, he counted another year of their marriage. He never stopped thinking and talking about her. On his last days, it was her that he talked about.

David is preceded in death by his parents and his wife; his Step-Father Harold Presser; two sisters Carol Trabish and Nancy Schlanser.

He is survived by his sister Sandy Presser Slomer, nephew Michael Schlanser, niece Kristine Schlanser Crutchleo, along with numerous cousins and in-laws.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Baptist Life Village Care Center, Erlanger, KY, for their compassion and quality of care given to David.

There will be a graveside prayer service for David at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, KY, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a Military salute.
