Obituary For Dawn Maria Davis
Dawn Maria Davis, 83, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, on April 1, 1943, Dawn was the cherished daughter of the late Perry and Stella Day. She lived a life marked by creativity, compassion, and deep devotion to her family, friends, and faith.
Dawn had a vibrant and artistic spirit and found joy in reading, gardening, and thrifting. She had a special gift for making life beautiful and meaningful for those around her, whether through her creativity, her thoughtful kindness, or the warmth she shared so freely. Her home and heart were always open to others.
A faithful and active member of the Presbyterian Church of Ft. Thomas for many years, Dawn dedicated countless hours of service to her church community. She served as a Deacon, Director of Sunday School, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and puppeteer. Through her leadership, generosity, and joyful spirit, she touched the lives of many and created lasting memories for generations of children and families.
In addition to her parents, Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Davis Jr.
She is survived by her children, Heather Longshore (Andrew), Michele Drake (Richard), and George “Chip” Taylor Davis (Shelley Berman); her siblings, Perry C. Day, Penny Day, and Jay Day; her grandchildren, Matthew Longshore (Nicole), Benjamin Drake, Jessica Longshore-Stewart (Brian), and Shannon Drake; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Wyatt Longshore, Avery Longshore, and Silas Stewart. She also leaves behind many devoted friends and neighbors who loved her dearly and were blessed by her friendship.
Dawn will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, creativity, and unwavering love for others. Her witty spirit and caring heart leave behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Gathering will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until the Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. at Faith Church, 3830 Narrows Road, Erlanger, KY 41018.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in Dawn’s memory to the American Cancer Society at Cancer.org or Habitat for Humanity at HabitatCincinnati.org.
