Obituary For Deborah Lea Thornberry

Deborah “Deb” Lea Thornberry, 59, of Union, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Born in Houston, Texas, on July 22, 1966, Debbie was the cherished daughter of the late James and Theresa Talbert. She was a shining light to all who knew her, someone who recognized the worth in every person she met, regardless of their circumstances or background. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on countless lives.

Her husband, George, had the privilege of witnessing her beautiful journey—from a shy, soft-spoken young woman into a friendly, outgoing, and nurturing soul. Debbie’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and selflessness. She gave freely of herself without ever expecting anything in return, leaving behind a legacy defined by compassion and grace.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Debbie lived as an example of the kind of person we should all strive to be. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought encouragement, and her actions reflected a heart devoted to others.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Alan.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, George; her sons, Stephen, Andrew, Roy, and Benjamin; her daughters, Heather and Christen; her sister, Karen; her brother, James; and 13 cherished grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory forward with love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Staffordburg United Methodist Church, 11815 Staffordburg Road, Independence, Kentucky 41015.

Online condolences may be shared on Facebook or at SerenityFuneralCare.com.

Debbie’s life was a gift to all who knew her, and her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
