Obituary For Deborah Rose Winston
Deborah “Deb” Rose (Jacobs) Winston, age 74, of Crittenden, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. Deb was born on April 3, 1952, in Covington, KY to the late Finley and Bonnie {Allphin} Jacobs.
Deb was raised on her family’s farm, where her daily tasks were tending tobacco patches, baling hay, and caring for the animals including her beloved childhood pony, Tiger Bill. The farm remained a lifelong source of peace for her, where she enjoyed fishing and spending time with horses, especially her own horse, Woody.
A gifted musician, Deb served as the organist and pianist at Walton Methodist Church for over 20 years, faithfully providing music that brought comfort and joy to countless services and gatherings. Deb could play multiple instruments and took great pride in teaching others to appreciate and create music. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Crittenden Christian Church.
While she found fulfillment in many roles throughout her life, Deb often said her favorite was being a private nanny to Sammy and LJ Sadler. Deb also loved thrift shopping for hidden treasures, crafting, completing puzzles, and crocheting the many blankets she lovingly made for members of her church congregation to celebrate the arrival of new babies or to those that needed the extra warmth.
Deb will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Bob Winston; children, Zachary (Jessica) Johnson, Matthew (Johnathan) Johnson, Charles “Chuck” R. Winston, and Andrea Gayle Winston; grandchildren, Abigail, Grace, Clara, and Trace; and sisters, Carol (Vern) McKinley and Joy (Larry) Glassman.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Finley and Bonnie Jacobs.
A visitation will begin at 6pm up until the time of Deb’s funeral service beginning at 7pm on Thursday, April 16th at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Deb will be laid to rest at 10 AM on Friday, April 17th at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
Memorial donations may be made to Crittenden Christian Church, 106 N Main St, Crittenden, KY 41030.
