Obituary For Debra Ann Bowling

Debra Ann Bowling of Independence, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Deb was a proud member of Visalia Baptist Church. She loved the Lord dearly and always prayed for others. Most can agree Deb was a good listener, she kept an empathetic heart and never judged, which made her easy to talk to. You could confide in her. She could talk to anyone and truly did not know a stranger.

Deb enjoyed listening and dancing to 50s and 60s music- especially Elvis’ gospel. However, her favorite pastime was being with her family no matter the occasion. Deb was very special to many people and her infectious laugh will be cherished forever.

She was preceded in death by her father, Brant Bowling and her brother, Dean Bowling.

She is survived by her fiancé, Oscar Strong; loving children, Kelly Combs and Ron Becknell; grandchildren, Ashley Barnes, Natasha Combs, Emily Milner, Brant Becknell and Dalton Becknell; mother, Versie Bowling Mahan; siblings, Lynn (Ted) Fisk, San Willman, Cathy (Alan) Saylor, Linda (Danny) Brumett, and Darrell (Janet) Bowling; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM.
