Obituary For Donald E. Wood
Donald Edward Wood, 85, of Walton, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Born in Covington, Kentucky, Don was the son of the late Leonard and Anna Wood. He was also preceded in death by his beloved sister, Georgia Marshall.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Andrea Fusaro Wood; his cherished daughter, Christina Wood (Mark Cummings); his beloved niece, Debbie Johnson (Steve); and extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before earning his degree from Miami University of Ohio. A proud member of the Holmes High School Class of 1959, he treasured the lifelong friendships he formed there, and he always looked forward to the regular gatherings with his classmates over the years.
Following college, Don enjoyed a successful 30-year career with the General Motors Chevrolet Division, retiring as a District Sales Manager. He took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.
Outside of work, Don found joy on the golf course and had a lifelong appreciation for automobiles. More than any hobby or accomplishment, however, Don will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and the deep love he had for his family. His greatest happiness came from the life he shared with Andrea and the pride he felt in his daughter, Christina. His quiet strength, warm heart, and steadfast devotion will remain an enduring source of comfort to all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Timothy Church, 10272 U.S. Highway 42, Union, Kentucky 41091.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Matthew 25: Ministries, 11060 Kenwood Road, Blue Ash, Ohio 45242, or online at www.m25m.org.
