Obituary For Donald Franklin Taylor

Donald Franklin Taylor, a lifelong resident of Boone County, Kentucky, passed away on May 15, 2026, in Villa Hills, Kentucky, at the age of 88. Born on November 18, 1937, Donald’s remarkable journey through life was marked by dedication, humor, and an unfaltering love for his family and community.

Donald devoted 37 years of his life to serving the sanitation department with Bavarian Trucking, a career that demonstrated his steadfast work ethic and commitment to the people of Northern Kentucky. Beyond his professional achievements, Donald was known for his funny, outgoing personality and his quick wit. His jovial spirit and ability to bring laughter to those around him will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

An avid enthusiast of horse racing, Donald found joy in riding his lawn mower, attending Cincinnati Reds games, and following race cars and hot rods. These passions were a vivid expression of his lively character and zest for life.

Above all, Donald’s proudest accomplishments were his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving daughter Melissa (Jeremy) Glover; sons Donald A. (Amy) Taylor and Danny (Sarah Fields) Taylor; daughter Crystal (Rodney) Addison; and his cherished companion Judy Garnett. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, a testament to the legacy of love and connection he fostered.

Donald’s family circle further includes his brothers Kenneth (Judy) Taylor and Bill Taylor, and sisters Donna Sebastian and Janet Gibson. He is also remembered by his three stepdaughters and a wide circle of other family members and friends who shared in his life and laughter.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Mabel Taylor (nee Sturgeon); father, Luther Charles Taylor; wife Annie Taylor; and four siblings.

A visitation to honor Donald’s life will be held on May 21, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, KY. At 2:30 p.m., a graveside service will take place at Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery, 1327 North Bend Road, Hebron, KY.
