Donald Joseph “Dewey” Schout, 62, of Newport, passed away on September 7, 2026. He was born November 21, 1963, to the late Earl and Mildred (nee Sandfoss) Schout.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dave Schout.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Julie (nee Luebbers) Schout; son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Destini Schout; grandchildren, Rowan and Calloway Schout; brother, Doug (Vickie) Schout; sister, Linda (Ron) Williams; sister, Bonnie Reekers; brother, Daryl (Ruth) Schout; sister, Rose (Tim) Simon; brother, Dan (Teri) Schout; sister, Shelly (Mike) Theis; and his in-laws who loved him like a brother: John (Christine) Luebbers, Christy McGinnis, Teresa Parmentier, Jill (Glenn) Dominic, Joanne Clark and Sally (Victor) Bayer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Philip Parish Center, 1401 Mary Ingles Hwy, Melbourne, KY 41059 from 7:00–10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12th. In the spirit of the occasion, wear your favorite Reds, Bengals, or UK spirit wear.
