Obituaries

Donald “Don” Mills, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Boonespring Skilled Nursing Facility. He was the beloved husband of Carole, as they shared 53 long and happy years together.

 Prior to his marriage, Don proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated 33 years to serving as a mail clerk with the United States Postal Service.

 In his little free time, Don enjoyed watching University of Kentucky basketball and was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, camping, golfing, watching old movies, and especially treasuring the time he got to spend with his family. One of his favorite places was his cottage at Williamstown Lake, where he enjoyed spending most of his summers. 

 He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Gloria and Charles Lozier; brother, Richard Lozier; and his grandma, Oma Mills.

 Don is survived by his loving wife, Carole Mills; children, Donald E. (Julie) Mills and Lori (Dan) Arlinghaus; grandchildren: DJ, Sam, Emma, Matt, Tim, Jake and Andrew; brother, Andy (Liz) Lozier; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 Services for Don will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
