Obituary For Donna Jean Blankenship

Donna Jean Blankenship, 82, of Hobe Sound, Florida, formerly of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away on June 10, 2026.

Born June 30, 1943, in Lawrence County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Polemus E. Queen and Amy Fannin Queen. Donna spent many years in Ashland, where she and her husband, John Blankenship, raised their son, Keith.

After John’s retirement, the couple moved to Hobe Sound, Florida, a community they had long loved. In Florida, Donna became a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Hobe Sound and volunteered for many years in the church’s thrift shop, where she was known as both a faithful helper and a favorite customer. She especially enjoyed tending to her yard, and her green thumb produced the beautiful flowers that became her signature. Her Lhasa Apso, Johny, was her constant companion.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Blankenship; her parents; and other beloved family members.

She is survived by her son, Keith (Maggie) Blankenship.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
