Obituaries

Douglas William McLane, age 76, of Union, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. He was born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky on October 12, 1947 to Fred and Mary McLane (nee Curran). Doug spent 50+ years working in the insurance industry. After working at a couple different companies he then started his own business, McLane Insurance Agency, where we worked for 38 years. Doug was a big football fan, he played in college at Morehead State and semipro for the Strohs Lions. Doug also enjoyed sports cars, fishing, and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred McLane, Jr., mother, Mary McLane, and sister, Kathy McLane. Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Sallie McLane (nee Justice), son, Marcus (Katherine Goldsmith) McLane, daughter, Sallie "Sam" (Mark) Lau, grandchildren, Hunter, Morgan, Sara, and Lorrin Lau, brother, Fred (the late Mary) McLane, III, sister, Mary (Frank) Fritsch, sister, Julie (John) Siemer, sister, Beth (Joel) Recht, brother, Michael "Mick" McLane; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am with a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 am all at St. Barbara Church, 4042 Turkeyfoot Rd, Erlanger, KY 41018.
