Edna Mae Connett, 90, of Fort Thomas, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025 at her home in Fort Thomas, KY. She was an avid gardener, lifetime bowler, master of catering, loved the river life, and adored her family and friends. She was the first to welcome others into her home for the holidays, cheer on the Bengals and Reds, or come sit on the front porch swing.

Edna was a graduate of Dayton High School. Edna's lifelong passion for culinary arts began when she and her husband bought Southern Food Service in Dayton KY making fried chicken and delicatessen sandwiches. Her hard work and skill led her to eventually open up the Westside Kitchen Restaurant in Newport with her mother. She enjoyed working side by side with her mother and husband making delicious foods and warm hospitality. Later on she worked with a respected culinary team at BB Riverboats, ending her career by providing memorable dining experiences for countless events.

Edna Mae Connett was born in Newport, Kentucky on February 21, 1935 to Homer and Mary Catherine (McCain) Harmon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Irvine Wendell Connett, sons Glen, Douglas, and Brian, and sister Garnett Zigler. Edna is survived by her sons Ronnie and Timothy (Amy) Connett, daughter in law Jody Connett, grandchildren Tyler, Matthew, Timothy, and Scott, and great-grandchildren Crew, Rory, Wellow, and Wendy Connett.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
