Obituary For Edward Joseph Hils
Hils, Edward Joseph- Beloved husband of the late Juanita "Jay" (nee Tittle). Loving father of Karen (Robert) Cost and Barbara (Steven) Jones. Devoted Papa to Andrew (Ainsley) and Robert II Cost, Heather (Steven Justin) Rehm, Edward (Kristina) Hamons and Janet Deitsch. Great papa of Justin (Bella), Megan (Blake), Lydia, Caleb, Grayson, Wyatt and Carter Cost, Madeline, Lillian, Blake and Aubrey Rehm, Samantha and Marc Hamons, Gage Deitsch and Jenna Owens and great-great papa of Alice. Dear brother of the late Ruth Fischer, Margaret Klag, Loretta Toner, Rudolph Hils, Marie Coogan and Robert Hils. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Died April 10, 2026 at the age of 93.
Ed was a proud United States Air Force veteran, who served our country during the Korean War. He earned The Korean Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and The National Defense Service Medal. During the years of 1957-1966, Ed had a part time job at Western Auto, while working there he met his wife, Juanita, who was working at a fabric store located in the same shopping center in Western Hills. Ed spent 30 years at Graybar Electric Company, where he worked as a manager in the quotation department. Former member of KofC LaSalle Council #5621 as a Grand Knight, 3rd Degree Knight, 4th Degree Knight St. Isaac Jogues, VFW Post 7340, American Legion Post 513 Mt. Healthy, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Illuminating Engineering Society of Cincinnati.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at the Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave. Westwood, from 10-11:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 Noon at St. Bernard Church, 7130 Harrison Ave., Taylor Creek (45247). Donations may be made to St. Bernard Church or to Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cinti., OH 45263.
