Obituary For Elaine Osterbrook
Elaine “Laney” Osterbrook, age 64, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. The daughter of the late Charles L. Raleigh and Julia {Sebastian} Raleigh, Laney was born in Covington, KY on November 16, 1961.
Laney was a devoted member of Nicholson Christian Church, where she faithfully worshipped since 2007 and served as an Administrative Assistant for 12 years.
A talented and creative woman, Laney loved scrapbooking and quilting alongside her sister, creating treasured bibs, soup cuzies, and blankets. She enjoyed relaxing with the TV on watching British crime television, murder mystery dramas, and could often be found cheering on her beloved Cincinnati Reds and UK Wildcats basketball team.
Laney was an exceptional cook; she was especially known for her delicious broccoli casserole and her belief that no one should ever leave her home hungry. More than anything, Laney cherished her family and embraced her role as “Nonna” to her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 35 years, Rusty Osterbrook; children, Joshua Adam (Sarah) Osterbrook, Kendall Tanner (Kathryn) Osterbrook, and Eliza Marie Osterbrook; siblings, Jeff (Sharon) Raleigh, Glenda (Dan) Schmidt, and Brenda (Joe) Lunsford; grandchildren, Oaklyn Ann, Shepherd Adam, and Luka Andrew Osterbrook; and her golden doodle, Opie.
Laney was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Julia Raleigh.
Services for Laney will take place on Saturday, June 20th with visitation hours from 10 AM until the time of her funeral service at 12 PM at Nicholson Christian Church, 1970 Walton Nicholson Rd. Independence, KY 41051. Laney will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery.
