Obituary For Elizabeth Harmeling Monohan

Elizabeth Harmeling “Betty” Monohan, 86, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, July 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Betty was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Rose (née Willett) Frazee. She attended La Salette Academy before pursuing her education at the University of Cincinnati School of Dental Hygiene. She dedicated 22 years of her career as a dental hygienist, working alongside her then-husband, Dr. Bernard Harmeling, D.M.D.

Betty was a longtime and devoted parishioner of Mary Queen of Heaven, where her faith remained an important part of her life. She found great joy in traveling, especially to her beloved second home in Longboat Key.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard Harmeling; and son, Charles Parton.

Betty is survived by her husband, Edward S. Monohan; children: Lisa (Scott) Husson, John (Margaret) Parton, Susan (Shannon) McClure; grandchildren: Nicole (Bryan) Murphy, Scott Kelley, Toby (Sarah) Parton, Kyle Husson, Justin (Heloisa) Husson, Tyler McClure and Chase McClure; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Frazee and Charlie (Pam) Frazee; as well as a niece and nephew.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial, 12:00 pm, at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 1150 Donaldson Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mary Queen of Heaven Church or to Boone County Animal Shelter, 5620 Idlewild Road, Burlington, KY 41005.
