Obituary For Elizabeth M. Garrison
Elizabeth M Garrison 96 of Florence, Ky passed away May 21, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Betty enjoyed a long life full of dear friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Harold Garrison, sister Margaret, and close friend sister-in-law, Gertrude Parsons. Betty was an animal lover and was recently grieving the loss of her beloved kitty, Sammy.
She is survived by many loving family members, nieces and nephews who enriched her life fully, including Marge, Ron, & Jon Kelly; Phillip & Michelle, Greg Garrison (Katie, Oliver, Oscar), Sarah Mynhier (Kristoffer, Lucy, Libby); Lula Garrison (Emma, Deanna); Cole (Jessica and Crystal) Parsons.
Betty leaves behind step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Harold III (Julie) Jenny, Harold IV, Mae Garrison and Brenna (Chris), CJ, Emma Bruden-Garrison FDL Wi.
Betty was born March 15, 1930 in Middlesex, England to Dora M. and George Morris-Schuff. She spent several years living with her grandfather Tite, and attended boarding school in Wales. Betty lived in London for many years employed by the hotel industry. While working at the Milestone Hotel near Kensington Palace she met her husband Harold while he was on business trips in London.
Betty moved to the U.S. around 1966 and they spent a few years together in Enfield Lake, Connecticut, and home to Kentucky. Betty spoke with great appreciation and warmth for how blessed and welcomed she felt from the Garrisons who became her family. Betty enjoyed many new friendships in her last decade living in Colonial Heights senior community.
A memorial service begins at 11:00 Friday, June 12 at Hopeful Lutheran church, 6430 Hopeful Church Rd. Florence, Ky. Lunch and fellowship to follow.
Betty was an independent, practical and honest, energetic, lovely woman. She enjoyed years of gardening, reading, knitting and visiting with family and friends. Betty always found great joy in being a cat owner! Betty had the most adorable English accent! She will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.
Betty will be buried alongside her husband Harold at Forest Lawn Cemetary, Erlanger Ky.
