Obituary For Emma Lou Carmony
Emma Lou Carmony, age 85, of Independence, Kentucky, formerly of Dandridge, Tennessee, went home to hear the words, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant,” on February 2, 2026.
Born April 7, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Scott Hall. Emma retired from Litton UHS, where she faithfully served as secretary to the President. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Dandridge, Tennessee, and her faith guided her life in quiet, steady ways.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Marvis Hall; her sister, Nevada Elwood; and brother-in-law, Jennings Elwood. She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Palis Miracle.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Charles Carmony; her son, Thomas Carmony (Karen); her brother, Samuel Hall Jr. (Violet); her sister, Sue Miracle; and her cherished grandchildren, Elyssa Nicole Carmony and Brandon Luke Carmony. She is also survived by her sister in law, Deloris Hall and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Emma found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, had a true green thumb, and loved flowers. One of her favorite places was sitting on the back deck of her home, peacefully gazing at the lake behind it. Above all, she adored her grandchildren.
She was an amazing cook, especially known for her lasagna. Emma and Charles shared a special tradition of baking pies together and delivering them to their church, doctors’ offices, and friends—a reflection of her generous heart and servant spirit.
Emma Lou Carmony will be remembered for her kindness, devotion to family, and the quiet love she shared so freely with everyone around her.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 11am in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Great Commission Fellowship Ministries, PO Box 1044, Monticello, UT 84535.
