Obituaries

Eva Jean Barker of Hebron, KY, age 72, departed this earth on April 4, 2026 and joined her savior, Jesus Christ in heaven. Eva was born on December 19, 1953 to Ed and Stella Jones in Pineville, KY. A life long member of the Church of God, Cleveland Assemblies, she came to know Christ as her savior on Easter Sunday 1965.

A graduate of Seymour High School, class of 1973, she married the love of her life, Roger Joseph Barker on June 26, 1976 and moved to Northern Kentucky where she lived out her life. She returned to school obtaining her associates degree graduating from college in 1990. She immediately began working for Children's Hospital Medical Center as a pharmacy technician, a position she held for 27 years.

Eva, affectionately called “Nana” by her grandkids, loved swinging on her porch swing with her husband. She enjoyed having her family over for swim parties and cookouts while catching up on the latest activities in their lives.

She had a green thumb and loved working in her garden growing tomatoes, peppers, and herbs. Eva took great pride in those tomatoes growing all varieties. She loved flowers and had them all throughout her home and hanging on her porch.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Henry (Shelby) Jones, Ray (Carolyn) Jones, Elmer (Alberta) Jones, Jerry Jones, and Floyd Jones and her sister Helen Murphy.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger Barker of Hebron, KY, sons Chris (Tina) Barker of Corinth, KY, and Aaron (Allison) Barker of Florence, KY, and her sister, Mildred Laws of Seymour, IN. Carrying on her love are her grandchildren Hunter (Trish) Barker of Petersburg, KY; Caleb (Mackenzie) Barker of Hebron; Makayla Barker of Florence, KY; Logan Barker of Corinth, KY; Emily Barker, of Corinth, KY; and Bree Barker of Florence, KY. She has one great-grandchild, Zara Yvonne Barker, and another on the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Tabernacle Church of God located at 1400 Walton Nicholson Rd, Walton, KY 41094. Friends and family are encouraged to attend and share stories, laughs, and celebrate the life of an amazing woman.
