Obituary For Flora "Dody" Morgan
Flora “Dody” Morgan, 88, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 10, 1938, Flora was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Edna Bedford. She spent many years working at Dolly Madison Budget Bakery before her retirement.
Flora found great joy in traveling, with favorite destinations including the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Hawaii, and numerous cruises. She also loved shopping and had a special fondness for collecting dolls. A deeply spiritual and devoted Christian woman, Flora read her scriptures daily and lived her faith through kindness and generosity.
She was an exceptional cook who took pride in canning her own fruits and vegetables. Flora cherished time with her family, often taking her children to farms and orchards to pick blackberries and peaches. A devoted and loving mother, she lovingly made her children’s clothing and created lasting memories through family outings, including trips to the drive-in and thoughtful birthday celebrations that always went the extra mile.
Flora was known for her vibrant personality—fun, upbeat, classy, and generous. Her home was a welcoming place where neighborhood children gathered, drawn by her warmth and hospitality. She had a deep love for music and could often be heard singing or humming throughout the day, especially hymns and spirituals while she worked.
In addition to her parents, Flora was preceded in death by her second husband, George Morgan, and her brothers, Sonny Bedford, Kenneth Bedford, and Louie Bedford.
She is survived by her first husband, Calvin Hargis; her sons, Steve (Cindy) Hargis and Jim Hargis; adoptive son, Greg Dewberry; her daughters, Robin Chisenhall and Holly Hargis; her sister, Sonya Dale; grandchildren, Rodney Dietz, Jessica Dietz, Stephanie Dietz, Damon Underwood, Jeremy Corvialis, Michael Chisenhall, Tasha Chisenhall-Gunn, Jason Chisenhall, James Hargis, Angela Olvera, Joshua Hargis, Jacob Hargis and Dakota Dewberry and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery, 2167 Dixie Highway, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017. Those attending are asked to meet inside the North Gate, located closest to the highway at the left corner of the cemetery fence.
Online condolences may be expressed on Facebook or at SerenityFuneralCare.com.
Flora’s legacy of love, faith, and joyful living will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
