Obituaries

Flora Herald Colwell York, 94, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 9, 2025. She was born on February 10, 1931, to her parents, James and Elizabeth (née Terry) Herald.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Harry York, in 2003; all of her siblings except one brother James Herald, her son, James Colwell, and grandsons, Chris Behymer and Dustin Colwell, siblings Ann Ware, Jean Fowee, Callie Prince, Nettie Baker,William Kennard, Vina Kuhn, and Dora Herald.
Flora cherished time with her family and was a devoted member of the Grand Avenue Church of God.
She is survived by her daughters, Nona Brewer, and Terry (Tom) Fromme, Sons, David (Patty) Colwell, Kenneth Colwell, Teddy York, and Danny (Barb) York. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren and brother James Herald.
A visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The service will begin at 7:00 PM and will be officiated by Reverend Glenn Hyden of Grand Avenue Church of God in Latonia. Graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11am at the Independence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate directly to Cooper Funeral Home.
