Obituary For Forrest L. "Woody" Arnett

Forrest L. “Woody” Arnett, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Union, KY. Woody will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginny;” his parents; and his brother.

Survivors include his two sons, Mark (Kim) and Brad (Mercedes) Arnett; a daughter, Stephanie (Patrick) Rose; and a brother-in-law, Steve (Sophie) Lightner. Woody was “Pop” to six grandchildren – Rachel, Zack, Alex (Jessica), and Jacob (Jess) Arnett, Katie (Daniel) Sluder, and Ryan (Laura) Rose – and three great-grandchildren – Miloh Arnett, Wesley Sluder, and Gabriel Arnett. A niece (Tera Lampe) and nephew (Nick Lightner) also survive him.

He was a retired facilities director for Anthem (Blue Cross and Blue Shield) and a long-time resident of Burlington, KY. Woody was an avid golfer and gardener, enjoyed taking cruises, and most of all, cherished spending time with his family.

A remembrance celebration and entombment of his urn will be done privately at the convenience of his family.
