Obituary For Frances Flynn Wireman

Mary Frances Wireman, nee Flynn, transitioned from this world to her eternal home in heaven peacefully at her long time Park Avenue residence on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

The second child of the late J.R. Flynn and Mary Afton Durr Flynn, Frances was a blessing born at home on her grandfather’s farm in rural Kenton County, near Bracht Station, on Bagby Road October 27, 1930.

Frances was a gifted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was especially blessed with an extraordinary mind for finance and accounting which coupled with her entrepreneurial spirit along with her husband and partner Wally Wireman made her a woman before her time as a successful business owner/operator of AQW Incorporated. Together Wally and Frances built a well-earned reputation for hard work, honesty, integrity, and enduring respect from all whom they did business with.

After a distinguished career as an officer of the Federated Department Store Credit Union from which she retired, Frances, always a helpmate to Wally running several businesses that he started, ran, and sold, incorporated AQW as a woman owned, manufacturing company, specializing in defense contracting of replacement parts for military hardware. Incorporated in 1983 AQW remains a proud supplier of replacement parts for original manufactured equipment to the United States military and its warfighters. The success of AQW Inc. is directly related to the acute business acumen of Frances and she remained its President until the time of her death.

Frances was well known throughout northern Kentucky and greater Cincinnati by those whom she associated with, for her beauty, dignified graciousness, style, and work ethic. Whether it was in the board room; the stock room; or ball room Frances was “at home” and treated everyone with dignity and respect.

Baptized at the Walton Christian Church by the Reverend Fred Nichols in 1938 Frances lived her faith every day and raised her family in church. Because she was a believer in Jesus and believing in the biblical principles of service to others there are many organizations that Frances volunteered her time to to better her community. Frances was an early member of the Walton WA-NA Club which started the first library in Boone County long before the now existing county system and also sponsored the early kindergarten classes taught by Queenie Webster held at local churches; past Worthy Matron of the Walton chapter Order of the Eastern Star; recognized for thousands of volunteer hours to the St. Elizabeth Health System at the Edgewood, KY hospital campus along side her decades long friend Lucille Campbell Adams; past Secretary/Treasurer of the Walton Business Association; past member of and general secretary to the National Association of Alarm Dealers; member of the national Who’s Who of Independent women business executives; past treasurer and board member of Walton Christian Church; member of the National Federation of Independent Business Owners; volunteer and supporter Walton Verona Schools.

In addition to enjoying her family one of Frances’ several passions was traveling and during her marriage to Wally they visited all 50 US states and territories and dozens of countries throughout South America, Central America, and Europe.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Wally Wireman; daughter, J. Gisele Fulmer; parents, J.R. and Mary Afton Durr Flynn; sister, Evelyn J. Rouse. It is a comfort to know that these loved ones have now all been reunited in the glory of heaven with their Savior Jesus Christ.

Those left to mourn the loss are sons: Rick Stephens (Rhonda) and Kelly F. Fulmer. Grandchildren: Julie Spiering (Chad); Sarah Stephens (Paul Sturgeon); Jessica Minnich (Scott). Great granddaughter Taylor Bowman (Trevor); Great great granddaughter Emma Bowman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

After a full and active consequential life and many happy days death came to Frances, as it does for us all, as a friend leading her back to her Savior which gave her the memorable season of life which was a light to those that she loved and that loved her in return.

The public may call on the family for visitation at the Crittenden Christian Church located at 106 N. Main Street, Crittenden, KY 41030 on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Denny Gosney officiating. Internment will be in the Walton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Walton Cemetery, C/O: Joella Flynn, treasurer, 12409 Crouch Road, Walton, KY 41094 or to the charity of donor’s choice.
