Obituary For Frank V. Burdick Jr.

Frank V. Burdick Jr, 83, of Villa Hills, Ky, died on June 8. He was at home, surrounded in recent days by his loving family and friends. Frank married Faye Stephenson of Crescent Springs 60 years ago. Frank and Faye have two sons, Frank V. Burdick III, who lives in Indianapolis with his partner Raquel Ravinet; and Kirk Burdick, who died in 2008 at age 40. Frank owned and operated Hyde Park Coiffeurs in Cincinnati for more than 50 years. His shop resonated with joy, laughter, support and love. He loved his clients, and they loved him. “Poppy” was deeply proud of his grandchildren, Maddie, Lilly and Joe Burdick. He displayed their photos prominently in his shop, many of them taken by their mother, Ellie Hammelrath. Both Faye and Frank have attended Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church for 30 years. Frank sometimes sang in the choir. They provided other service to the church, Frank as Elder, Deacon and confirmation mentor and Faye as Clerk of Session. In addition to his wife, son and grandchildren, Frank leaves behind a brother Jim (Duke) Burdick and his wife, Becky. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17 at Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, 103 William Howard Taft, Cincinnati OH. A reception will follow immediately in the church social hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra or the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.stithfuneralhomes.com.
