Fred Irving Horne, age 99 of Florence, KY passed away on February 13, 2024 at the VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH. Fred was born in Coeburn, VA on March 10, 1924 to Felix and Hattie Stallard Horne. Fred was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a retired teacher, having retired in 1984 from Conner Junior High School. He was also a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the Masonic Lodge of Coeburn, VA. Fred is preceded in death by his Wife Genevieve Horne who passed in 2014, Son Stephen Horne and Sister Doris Johnson. Fred is survived by his Son John Horne, Granddaughters Kinley Kelly (Patrick) and Cameron Horne, Great Grandson Stone Kelly, and Brother Maurice “Bud” Horne. The Visitation will be from 10 AM – 11 AM with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US 42, Florence, KY 41042.
