Obituary For Gale Marie Lawson
Gale Marie Lawson, 87, of Hebron, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at Villa Spring in Erlanger.
Born in New Jersey. Gale met her beloved husband, Ozene Lawson, while he was serving in the U.S. Army. They married in December of 1955 and shared 70 devoted years together. In 1967, they built their home in Hebron, where Gale became a longtime and active member of Hebron Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, helped start the church food pantry, and faithfully served her community.
Gale had a heart for helping others. She helped to start the BAWAC Thanksgiving Dinner, which is still being served over 40 years later, volunteered with the Women’s Crisis Center (including on its Board), and was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Women’s Auxiliary. She also worked as a manager for the IRS for 15 years.
Above all, Gale loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Known as “Grandma Gale,” she especially treasured time spent with her granddaughters. She also cherished her friendships, especially her “Golden Girls”—Bonnie, Pat, Lindy, and Connie—who shared many meals, laughs, and trips together.
Gale was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Farrell, and her infant daughter, Sandra Gale Lawson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Ozene Lawson; her daughter, Linda (Randell) Parks; her son, Steven Lawson; her grandchildren, Alicia (Jon) Henson and Sarah (Dan) Messer; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Gavin, Ruby, and Rose; and her brothers, Jack (Janet) Farrell and James (Carol) Farrell.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington.
